Raising awareness about pediatric cannabis therapy is important because it is saving lives!
This brave 9-year-old Mykayla is doing her part to raise awareness about cannabis and its effects in treating cancer. With the support of her parents, they created this video so little Mykayla can do her part as an advocate for medical marijuana.
Currently, there are only two approved treatments for cancer – radiation and chemotherapy. Both extremely dangerous to the body, stripping patients of their hair, health and self-esteem.
However, if you are an adult with cancer you have a choice of treatment. But when you are a child, your parents do not have the option to refuse these deadly treatments. If you do, you could face legal repercussions and lose custody of your child.
Mykayla had T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a very rare and aggressive form of childhood leukemia. In July 2012, doctors discovered a basketball sized mass in her chest. Her mass was so large that she was not able to be sedated for risk of death from the pressure on her esophagus and heart.
